As 2024 comes to a close, we at Fugo find ourselves looking back on a year of steady progress and thoughtful development. This year, we focused on making digital signage more accessible, secure, and useful for our customers.
Along the way, we launched new features, deepened integrations, and strengthened the platform in ways we’re proud to share.
Here’s what stood out in 2024—and what’s next in 2025.
2024: what we built, improved, and achieved
Power BI: doing more with your data
One of our most-used features saw key upgrades this year. Power BI dashboards can now be captured as screenshots, giving you more flexibility in how data is displayed on your screens - for cases where your device browser is out of date or not powerful enough to load your data directly.
We also added slicer support, enabling you to filter & adjust data views directly from your report, making it easier to focus on the most relevant information for the right viewers.
Expanding screen mirroring with casting links
Our screen mirroring tools became even more versatile with the introduction of casting links.
This addition allows users to connect their screens quickly and efficiently, simplifying the process of extending displays in shared spaces.
See how it's done:
More platform support: macOS joined the fold
In 2024, Fugo became fully compatible with macOS. This step ensured that even more users could access the platform on the devices you use every day, broadening our reach across diverse setups.
Media uploads made easier
We made significant improvements to how media can be added to Fugo’s library. You can now upload files directly from Google Drive & Dropbox, streamlining workflows for teams who rely on these tools.
Additionally, support for PowerPoint uploads introduced a simple way to repurpose presentations into signage content.
Introducing player variables for dynamic content
This year, we launched Player Variables, a feature designed to make screen-specific content updates at scale easier. You can use them to assign unique variables—like store names or locations—to each screen in your network and use them dynamically in apps like the Web Page app.
For example, instead of creating separate content for each store, you could define a location
variable for each screen. When the content runs, it automatically pulls the correct information, ensuring each display shows relevant & accurate details.
This update saves time, ensures consistency, and simplifies managing large networks of screens - all while keeping content flexible & adaptable.
Launching the HTML Embed App
One of our most-requested features—the ability to display live web content—was delivered with the release of the HTML Embed app.
his app opened up new possibilities for integrating up-to-date, dynamic information into signage displays.
TV Dashboards: adding security & reach
Our TV Dashboards suite saw some of its biggest updates yet. We introduced player-local dashboards, which ensure data security by processing everything directly on the player itself.
Not sure what types of support we offer for Cloud hosted vs on-premise hosted dashboards? Check out this handy guide explaining the different support we offer for each & how to configure them in Fugo.
For CRM users, we added support for HubSpot, making it easier to visualize and manage customer data through Fugo.
Trust & partnerships
2024 was a year of building trust and opening new channels for collaboration:
- We achieved SOC 3 certification and conducted a penetration test, reinforcing our commitment to security.
- Fugo became the first digital signage platform fully supported on the Raspberry Pi 5, keeping us at the forefront of hardware compatibility.
- Our partnership with the Bendac Group (the UK's leading provider of turnkey LED solutions) was renewed, and we’re excited to begin work on a perimeter screen system with them in 2025. LinkedIn is where we'll be shouting about that project, so make sure to follow Fugo & Bendac!
Recognitions & contributions
This year, Fugo continued to make its mark among our industry peers:
We were invited to exhibit alongside ChromeOS at their ISE 2024 stand, highlighting our strong integration with ChromeOS devices.
For the second consecutive year, Fugo was included in Capterra’s Digital Signage Software Shortlist, a recognition of the value we continue to deliver to our users and our growing presence in the digital signage space.
What’s next for 2025?
As we move into 2025, we’re focusing on making digital signage even more intuitive & capable:
- Presence at ISE 2025: While we won’t be exhibiting this year, we’ll be attending & engaging with the community to discuss the next year of digital signage. It's coming soon! February, to be exact. Ping us at hello@fugo.ai if you'll be there & want to meet with our team.
- Amazon Signage Stick: Fugo will join the CMS partner list for the recently launched Amazon Signage Stick, opening new possibilities for lightweight signage solutions.
- Better Sony Bravia device support: Deeper integration with Sony Bravia professional displays is on the way, bringing more options for hardware setups.
- AI-Driven enhancements
- Design Studio: Our Design Studio will gain AI-powered design tools to simplify and diversify the content creation process.
- TV Dashboards: We'll be introducing agentic AI intelligence to make our TV Dashboards smarter & more reactive. These enhancements will allow dashboards to behave more like live, "smart" data systems—responding dynamically to changes and delivering even more relevant, real-time insights. This is one project we're REALLY excited about.
Fugo Flash: bridging the digital signage tech gap for small businesses
One of the most exciting developments for Fugo in 2025 is the launch of Fugo Flash, a USB-powered, plug-and-play signage player that addresses the unique challenges faced by small businesses like corner shops, diners, and cafes.
For many, digital signage has been out of reach - not because they don’t see its value, but because existing options are built for enterprises, not everyday businesses.
Small businesses often face unnecessary friction when adopting digital signage:
- Clunky setups requiring multiple power sources and internet.
- Complex SaaS software that feels overwhelming.
- Expensive professional-grade hardware they don’t actually need.
With Fugo Flash, we're looking to eliminate these barriers by designing a signage solution that is truly tailored for small businesses:
- Powered by your TV’s USB port: No bulky hardware or extra power cords
- Works without WiFi: Simply connect it to your phone's hotspot
- AI-powered publishing: Create and display content in seconds using a straightforward mobile app & speech-to-content workflow
We introduced Fugo Flash during a sneak peek on Product Hunt, where it sparked immediate interest from people looking for a simple, effective way to upgrade their screens. Now, as we approach the official launch, make sure to join the waitlist to be among the first to experience it!
