Unlock more from your Zoom Rooms screens with Fugo

Zoom Rooms are a fantastic tool for seamless virtual meetings, but did you know you can extend their functionality to deliver dynamic digital signage content as well? With Fugo, you can turn your Zoom Room screens into versatile information hubs when they're not in use for meetings.

Typically, Zoom Rooms allow you to display basic media files or a video stream via URL for digital signage. While useful, this limits the types of content you can showcase. By embedding the Fugo browser player (https://player.fugo.ai) as your default digital signage URL, you can significantly expand what appears on your screens:

If your team has already created playlists within Fugo, you can easily repurpose this content for your Zoom Rooms. It saves time and reduces redundancy, ensuring all your displays are synchronized and up-to-date. This also allows you to showcase a broader range of content compared to the limited options within Zoom Rooms alone.

While this setup requires a bit of configuration, and incurs additional costs (since Zoom Room devices will be counted as screens in your Fugo subscription), it's ideal for teams looking to unify their display systems, enhance their meeting room technology, and maximize the utility of their TV screens.

We'll walk you through how to set it up below.

Set up your Zoom Room to display the Fugo browser player

1. Sign into your Zoom account at https://zoom.us/signin. Make sure you've got an active Zoom Room license and have the administrator tole.

💡 Note: As of the publish date of this article, Zoom is no longer offering free trials of Zoom Rooms, though you may still see (now broken) links to a trial on the Zoom website.

2. In the left-hand panel, navigate to Admin > Room Management > Zoom Rooms. Click Edit on the room you want to use with Fugo.

3. Go to the Digital Signage tab.

4. Click Add Content.

5. Choose the URL option & enter the Fugo browser player URL - https://player.fugo.ai and click Add URL.

6. You'll see the browser player load. Click Add 1 Item.

7. Back in the Digital Signage tab, you may want to apply changes to the settings to run Fugo more optimally with your Room:

  • Set the Duration of the URL you just added to 23:59:59 (because you'll build your actual content playlist in Fugo CMS, you just need to tell Zoom to run the URL as the 'always on' default.)

  • Under Display Period, set the value for Start displaying content [ ] min after a meeting ends to your preference. You may want to set this to 5 or 10 minutes, to allow some margin in case meetings run over, since the display will stop a meeting that has gone over time.

  • Also set the value for Stop displaying content [ ] min before a meeting is scheduled to begin to your preference. If you want your digital signage content to run all the way up until the minute the meeting is scheduled to begin, set this value as 0.

Click Save when you're done.

8. You should now see the Fugo player URL in the preview area.

Add content to your screen

With the Fugo browser player set up as the default digital signage content for your Zoom Room, you're ready to pair it to Fugo & give it something to show!

Pair your screen to Fugo

After following the steps in the last section, the Fugo browser player should load automatically on your Zoom Rooms screen when it's not being used for a video meeting.

The first time it loads (this may take up to 30-60 seconds) you'll see a 4-character pairing PIN (like the one pictured below) that you'll use to add your screen in your Fugo account.

1. Log into your Fugo account or start a free trial at www.fugo.ai/app.

2. Navigate to the Screens page and click either of the Create Screen buttons.

3. Enter the pairing code that you see on your Zoom Rooms screen and give it a name.

4. Your new screen will now be listed on your Screens page.

💡 Note: If you've already used up all your pre-purchased Fugo screen licenses, you'll be prompted to purchase another license for your Zoom Rooms screen.

You can also purchase licenses from the Billing page (if you've already subscribed) or Upgrade page (if you haven't yet subscribed) of your Fugo account.

The Fugo player that you embed on your Zoom Rooms screen will be charged like any other screen in your account.

Publish content to your screen

With your screen paired, you can start publishing playlists to it!

Using the Playlist builder, you can:

  • Add media that's been uploaded to Fugo from your computer or selected through integrations with Dropbox or Google Drive

  • Add presentations you've uploaded as PDFs from your computer, connected through Google Slides, or built directly in Fugo's slide builder (A.K.A Design Studio)

  • Add any of our apps for business integrations, communication, social media and more

  • Add dashboards set up with our TV Dashboards feature

  • Add reports & dashboards set up through our Power BI & Looker integrations
