Understanding the difference between webOS TV & webOS Signage

LG has two separate operating systems for commercial and consumer displays, respectively.

Commercial - webOS Signage

LG's product line made specifically for digital signage runs the operating system webOS Signage, which comes with features especially for digital signage. The hardware advantages of these displays include: higher brightness, longer operating hours and higher durability.

Fugo supports:

  • webOS Signage 4.0

  • webOS Signage 4.1

  • webOS Signage 6.0

Consumer - webOS TV

LG's line of consumer smart TVs run the webOS TV operating system. These displays are primarily designed for home entertainment, both in hardware and features, and therefore are generally built for playback sessions of 4-6 hours. They're not particularly fit for purpose as digital signage displays & will therefore have a few drawbacks.

Learn more about the differences & how to find out which type of display you have in this guide.
