Table of Contents

Obviously, when you’re working with digital signage, you’ll want to be able to display all kinds of media on your screens. Thankfully, Fugo supports a wide variety of different filetypes for each type of media which means that you don’t have to change how you’re exporting and working with your content already, to get up and running with Fugo!

Images

Here are the image filetypes we support:

  • JPEG

  • JPEG2000

  • PNG

  • SVG

  • PPT

When images are uploaded, except for SVG files, we convert them to .jpeg files and downsize them to 1080p resolution, if necessary. This helps to optimize your content and prevent your storage from filling up too quickly.

Videos

These are the video filetypes that we support:

  • MPG

  • MPEG

  • MOV

  • MP4

  • AVI

We transcode videos using our codecs for playback to optimize delivery to screen. However, you can turn this option off in your Fugo account if for instance you have a 4k display or need to use a specific codec for your player.

When designing your layouts, please bear in mind that we don’t use HTML5 video playback for Android or FireTV. This means that you can’t put other elements in front of a video, because the video will render above any elements placed in front of it.

You can turn HTML5 video playback on in your Fugo account, but we recommend against that as we’ve found that native video playback offers a much smoother viewing experience. It also supports a wider variety of filetypes, and can play multiple videos at once without stuttering or other issues.

Web Pages

Web pages are embedded directly from the source URL into iFrames inside the Fugo player.

Troubleshooting File Uploads

If you’re running into problems uploading files to your Fugo account, there are a couple of things that could be causing your uploads to fail:

  • The connection was interrupted

Please try uploading your files again, making sure that your connection does not get interrupted during the upload.

  • You exceeded the upload limit

There is a limit of 10 files per upload - please make sure you’re uploading 10 or fewer files at a time.

  • The filetype is not supported, or the file has been corrupted.

There are various reasons that a file may have been corrupted during the saving or exporting process. If you believe that this might be affecting your files, you can send the file in question to our support team (at support@fugo.ai) and we’ll be happy to test it for you!

  • The Cloud service we use to handle media conversion and storage is currently experiencing downtime.

If none of the above work, please contact our support team and we will inform you of any outages currently affecting the Fugo media services.
