Fugo’s TV Dashboards feature lets you display secure, login-protected dashboards from tools like Salesforce, Tableau, Looker Studio, and HubSpot on your workplace screens — even when those dashboards are behind SSO, MFA, or complex login flows.

To do this, Fugo gives you two setup options:

  • Dashboard apps — pre-built connectors for supported platforms

  • Dashboard Recorder — a browser-based method that records your login steps

Both methods work with password-protected dashboards, but they serve different use cases. This guide will help you decide which one is right for your setup — and when to switch from one method to the other.

The two connection methods, explained

1. Dashboard apps (recommended for most users)

Use this when you’re connecting dashboards from platforms with built-in Fugo support, such as:

  • Salesforce

  • Tableau

  • Looker Studio

  • HubSpot

With the app, you’ll:

  • Enter your dashboard URL

  • Log in directly through a pop-up in the Fugo interface

  • Enter your Secret Key (if using 2FA)

  • Let Fugo handle the rest

What it looks like:

👍 Best for:

  • Simple login flows (e.g. Google SSO with 2FA via authenticator app)

  • Users who want the quickest, cleanest setup

  • Dashboards that don’t need cropping or customization

👎 Limitations:

  • Doesn’t allow element-by-element screenshot or erasing content

  • May not handle complex login flows (e.g. multi-step SAML)

2. Dashboard recorder (manual capture method)

The recorder is a browser-based tool that:

  • Launches in Chrome

  • Lets you walk through your login manually

  • Captures the exact screen you want to display

  • Repeats your steps in a secure environment to generate live screenshots

What it looks like:

👍 Best for:

  • SAML or complex SSO setups with multiple redirects

  • Dashboards that require fine-grained control (cropping, erasing)

  • Users who want to capture a specific portion of a dashboard

👎 Limitations:

  • Requires the Chrome extension & incognito mode

  • Slightly longer setup time

Which one should I use?

Scenario

Use the app

Use the recorder

Your platform has a Fugo app

✅ Yes

Optional

You’re using SAML or custom SSO

✅ Yes

You want to take isolated screenshots of parts of your dashboard

*Note that you can use Fugo's Design Studio to crop & customize your captured dashboards later.

✅ Yes

You want the fastest setup

✅ Yes

You’re running into login errors with the app

🚫

✅ Try this instead

🤔 Not sure where to start? Try the app method first. If your login fails or you need more control, switch to the recorder.

Can I switch between methods?

Yes. Fugo treats each dashboard connection as a separate item in your library.

  • You can test one method, and if it doesn't work, try the other.

  • You can even duplicate your dashboard setup and configure it using the other method as a fallback.
