Setting your iPad in kiosk mode using Guided Access allows you to lock it down to a single app, disable certain buttons, and limit access to other functionality. This is ideal for creating a secure, user-friendly experience for visitors. Here’s how to set it up, including adding and displaying the Fugo app.

Step 1: Enable Guided Access

1. Open the Settings app on your iPad.

2. Navigate to Accessibility in the left-hand menu.

3. Scroll down and select Guided Access.

4. Tap Passcode Settings.

5. Choose Set Guided Access Passcode and enter a passcode.

(This passcode is required to exit kiosk mode.)

Step 2: Add the Fugo App to Your Home Screen

1. Open Safari and navigate to https://Player.fugo.ai.

2. Tap the Share icon (a square with an upward arrow).

3. From the Share menu, select Add to Home Screen.

4. Name the app (if prompted) and tap Add.

(This saves Fugo as a web app on your iPad’s Home Screen.)

Step 3: Launch and Display the Fugo App

1. Go to the Home Screen and tap the Fugo app to open it.

2. Once the app runs, enable Guided Access to lock the iPad to the Fugo app.

Step 4: Launch Guided Access

1. Triple-click the Home button (or the Top/Side button on devices without a home button) to activate Guided Access.

Step 5: Configure Guided Access Settings

1. Triple-click the button again to access Guided Access settings.

2. Adjust the following:

Disable Specific Screen Areas:

Use your finger to circle areas of the screen you want to block from touch. These sections will no longer respond to user interaction.

Tap Options:

Customise the functionality of hardware buttons and features:

• Disable the Sleep/Wake button.

• Disable the Volume buttons.

• Turn off Motion (prevents the app from reacting to device movement).

3. Tap Resume in the top-right corner to start Guided Access.

Step 6: Operating in Kiosk Mode

• While Guided Access is active:

• The Home, Volume, and Power buttons are disabled.

• Users can only interact with the allowed portions of the Fugo app.

Step 7: Exiting Kiosk Mode

1. Triple-click the Home button (or the Top/Side button on Pro models).

2. Enter the Guided Access passcode to exit kiosk mode.

Optional: Secure the iPad

To physically secure your iPad for kiosk use, consider using a premium tablet stand, such as the Elite Evo Floor Stand. This ensures your device remains safe and accessible to users.

By following these steps, you can set up your iPad to securely display the Fugo app in kiosk mode, offering a professional and streamlined user experience.
